[Sounds of birds chirping and two people jogging.]
PAM
Hi Tanisha!
TANISHA
Hi Pam! Enjoying your jog?
PAM
Actually, I’m thinking about Tuesday’s election. I’m leaning toward Amy Klobuchar for U.S. Senate. Her dad was such a good writer, and she’s been Hennepin County District Attorney, so no one can say she’s soft on crime.
TANISHA
You know, I was leaning that way, too. But then I started reading up on her. Did you know Amy Klobuchar promised to get tough on crime, but under her watch plea bargains actually went up?
PAM
That’s news to me.
TANISHA
I like that she’s a woman, too, but you have to look at results. That’s why I’m voting for Mark Kennedy. He’s been in Congress for six years and has co-authored 20 bills with members of the other party.
PAM
But Amy Klobuchar says Kennedy is a rubber stamp for President Bush.
TANISHA
(Laughs)
Members of the same party agree a lot. Amy Klobuchar would do the same if the situation was reversed. Mark Kennedy doesn’t run away from his friends when they’re unpopular. Would you want to vote for someone who would?
PAM
Good point. Maybe I need to take a closer look at Mark Kennedy.
MARK
I’m Mark Kennedy, and I approve this message.
